Company Story
TriVascular was founded in Sonoma County in 1998 by President Michael Chobotov and four associates. This medical device company, which recently merged with Endologix, has been a leader in designing and manufacturing technologies to assist patients suffering from aortic disease. Ruptured aneurysms are a leading cause of death among people over 65.
Through its work with clinicians worldwide, the company focuses on helping physicians improve the lives of its patients by addressing unmet clinical needs and improving EVAR safety for people with the condition. Nearly 6,000 patients have received the TriVascular Ovation Prime implant, approved by the FDA in October 2012. Trivascular is one of a growing number of life sciences companies that have established themselves in the North Bay within the last few decades.
